Conditions of the public information re-use
The City of Warsaw Office of Surveying and Cadastre (BGiK) shares the public information for its re-use in compliance with the Act on Access to Public Information of 25/02/2016 (Journal of Laws of 2016, item 352, as amended) in the following manner:- In the Public Information Bulletin of the Capital City of Warsaw Office;
- On the geoinformation website of the Capital City of Warsaw Office to be found under the link www.mapa.um.warszawa.pl
- In the addresses and streets service available on the website of the Capital City of Warsaw Office to be found under the links:
- Via services:
- WMS (Web Map Service) available on: //wms.um.warszawa.pl/serwis
- WFS (Web Feature Service) available on: //wfs.um.warszawa.pl/serwis

- and on request for the public information re-use.
- Natural persons, legal entities and organizational units not having the legal personality and using the public information or any of its piece, being in possession of the Office of Surveying and Cadastre, regardless of its form (paper or digital) commercially or non-commercially, are obliged to:
- inform about the source of information;
- inform about the time the public information was produced by the Office of Surveying and Cadastre;
- inform about the time when the public information was retrieved by the user;
- Informing the last name, name or nickname of the creator or artist if the material has the characteristics of a work or a related object within the meaning of the provisions of the Act of 4th February 1994 "o prawie autorskim i prawach pokrewnych" or is a database within the meaning of the provisions of the Act of 27 July 2001 "o ochronie baz danych" and author is given in BGiK materials;
- inform the Office of Surveying and Cadastre about the fact of processing the public information at BG-informacjapubliczna@um.warszawa.pl
- inform the receivers of the public information that the public information was processed and to what extent;
- access the public information in a way that does not interfere with other users accessibility, in case of detecting the overuse or protracted time of exploitation of the public information, the access may be limited, terminated or blocked.
- The responsibility for the information shared is defined as below:
- the public information shared in the Warsaw addresses and streets service includes the address and names up-to-date for the day before the data publication in the service;
- Public information including the data of the district geodetic and cartographic resources is retrieved and updated in accordance with the rules laid down for that resource and made available for a fee in accordance with the Annex to the Act of May 17th 1989 "Prawo geodezyjne i kartograficzne" (Journal of Laws as of 2016, item 1629, as amended) on the amount of the basic rate in relation to the relevant units of account, the correction coefficients, and the principles for determining these coefficients, as well as the detailed rules for calculating the amount of fees;
- the public information including the data from the register of urban areas, streets and addresses is updated and published in compliance with the Ministry of Administration and Digitization Regulation of February 9th 2012 "w sprawie ewidencji miejscowości, ulic i adresów" (Journal of Laws as of 2012, item 125);
- some of the information published in the service and in WMS and WFS may be out-of-date or include mistakes. The President of Warsaw disclaims any responsibility for any potential damage resulting from the use of the information.
- using a piece of work or a data (commercially or non-commercially) retrieved in the public information re-use mode is regulated by the Act of February 4th 1994 "o prawie autorskim i prawach pokrewnych" (Journal of Laws of 2016, item 666 as amended) as well as the Act of July 27th 2001 "o ochronie baz danych" (Journal of Laws as of 2001, no. 128, item 1402 as amended) with the provision relating to the third parties’ rights.
- The President of Warsaw disclaims any responsibility for the shared public information re-use in a manner that breaches the legal order in force as well as for re-using the retrieved information or database by the entity that uses the public information in a scope which exceeds the entity’s powers in this area.
- Re-use of the public information commercially or non-commercially is free of charge, except for the information that is being retrieved from the county surveying and mapping resources and in case the preparation of the public information for its re-use in the manner specified in the application form requires some additional costs on the Warsaw Municipal Office side. In this case the President of the Capital City of Warsaw may:
- require a fee for the information that does not exceed the sum of the costs directly born to prepare and transfer the information;
- refuse to share the information for re-using purposes if its preparation according to the specification from the application form requires disproportionate, exceeding the basic actions.
- The district geodetic and cartographic resource include, among others:
- land registration,
- prices registry and values of real estates,
- basic map
- orthophotomaps, photo sketches.
- The regulations provided above are binding for all the subjects, including the subjects executing the public actions if using the public information goes beyond the scope of those actions.
